Coastal Virginia gets its newest modern-luxury high-rise hotel with the official launch of Gold Key | PHR’s $125MM oceanfront resort, the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront. The oceanfront’s new 305-room hotel is the most recent addition to The Cavalier Resort, which includes the Historic Cavalier Hotel and Beach Club, and features two chef-driven signature restaurants, twenty-five thousand square/feet of modern meeting and event space, expansive oceanside outdoor social spaces, and sweeping views of Virginia’s pristine coastline.
While the recently restored Historic Cavalier Hotel blends classic southern charm with rich vibrant colors and elevated services and ammenities, the new Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel exudes a less-formal luxury and contemporary aesthetic inspired buy its prominent beach front location. The modern 24-story glass high-rise utilizes a fresh, natural color palette, with voluminous interior spaces that feature polished concrete, blackened steel, natural rough woods, and greenery throughout softening its modern lines. The design seamlessly blends interior and exterior spaces including the hotel’s main pool with oversized doors that allow the Atlantic ocean breezes to flow throughout the property.
Each of the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront’s 305 rooms embrace designed elements found in the hotel’s public spaces. Guest rooms blend neutral tones and textures with splashes of color that echo the area’s stunning landscape. Guest rooms feature private balconies connecting guests to the outdoors and provide unrivaled views of the pristine Virginia coastline. The hotel boasts two signature chef-driven restaurants and multiple bars. Orion’s Roof, the hotels sophisticated rooftop dining experience, will feature the culinary talent of world-renowned Chef Hisashi Araki. At 24-stories high, Orion’s Roof will provide guests with an unobstructed 180-degree view of the Virginia Beach oceanfront. Inspired by local fish and farmer’s markets, Executive Chef Paul Newman will lead the team at Tulu Seaside Bar & Grill offering locals and hotel guests a taste of seasonal, modern American fare in a relaxed oceanfront environment. Providing scratch cooking with an emphasis on healthy, mindful eating, Tulu’s menu will provide something for every taste and diet, serving everything from breakfast to bar snacks. Tulu can accommodate 140 guests and has handsome patio seating and a bocce lawn for taking in the fantastic water views. Marriott Bonvoy members have access to a 2,400 square foot M Club Lounge, providing ideal spaces to work and relax.
The Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront is the second phase in a three-phase $350MM masterplan, which includes The Historic Cavalier Hotel and Beach Club, The Cavalier Residences, 42 Ocean luxury condominiums, the new Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront, and a phase three which will include an additional hotel. The three phases will create an all-in-one resort experience for locals and visitors, offering a unique collection of unparalleled amenities.
